Worship Team

We are passionate about using our musical gifts to create an atmosphere for our church to experience the presence of God.

Be Part Of The Worship Team

Instrumentalist

A Worship Team instrumentalist consists of drums, electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, and keys/piano. We express our love to God through instruments while creating a space in service for people to pursue His presence. You don’t need to be a professional to join, but you will have to show some experience and submit an audition video.

Vocalist

Vocalists are the singers on stage. They are often the connection point between the congregation and the rest of the band. The lyrics that are sung are incredibly important and the margin to sing well or be flat/sharp is so small but can make or break a worshipful moment.

Next Gen Worship Team

To maintain a developmental atmosphere that pours into students as much as possible, we prioritize having middle school students, high school students, and young adult instrumentalist and vocalists join our team for Journey Students.

Meet Your Leaders

Jeremy Tomlinson - Creative Arts Pastor

Pastor Jeremy began working at Journey in 2015 as the Music & Tech Pastor. Currently, he’s the Creative Arts Pastor who leads the Worship, Production, and Connections teams. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Jeremy has 3 sons and 2 daughters with his wife, Crystal.

Pastor Jeremy says, “I love that I get to be a part of people’s life changing journey with Jesus. I love the fact that I have the honor to lead both up front in-person with Worship and Connections but also get to lead and serve behind the scenes with our Communications and Tech Production teams. It’s incredible to see and hear first-hand how God works through all of us at Journey to accomplish so much more than I even could imagine.”

Esther Velez - Next Gen Worship Director

Esther is our Next Gen Worship Director. She says, “I sing, I encourage, I create! I get to lead worship for Next Gen Ministries, help build teams of worshippers, and create opportunities for Journey Students to encounter the presence of God through worship.” Esther previously worked as worship resident at 12Stone Church in Georgia. Once she graduated, she knew it was time to step out and pursue her next step in ministry, and we are so grateful to have her here at Journey!
