Church Membership

Membership is the covenant we make with one another as a church.

Every member of Journey Christian Church agrees to remain true to the faith, engage with our church family, and be a part of our mission. Biblically, belonging to a local church body is essential for faithful followers of Jesus.

Members shall have the duties and responsibilities that are found in Scripture and are consistent with their Statement of Faith, including, but not limited to:
• Share in fulfilling the purpose of the church;
• Serve in the ministry of the church;
• Support the testimony and essential doctrine of the church;
• Faithfully attend the services of the church;
• Give regularly to support the church financially;
• Protect the unity of the body; and
• Submit to the authority of the Elders.
As stated in Section 1 of Article IV of the Articles of Incorporation, the members of the church are those who meet the following terms:
• Belief in Jesus of Nazareth as the Christ, the Son of God, and public acknowledgment thereof;
• Repentance and the decision to accept Jesus Christ as the Lord of one’s life and to obey His revealed will;
• Baptism by immersion in water in obedience to Jesus Christ and in keeping with Christ’s example and teachings found in the New Testament.
You can become a member of Journey Christian Church by one of 3 ways:
1. Be baptized at Journey Christian Church (more info here).
2. If you have already been baptized by immersion at another church, you can request to be a member.
3. Or transfer your church membership to Journey Christian Church.
