DISASTER RELIEF

When disaster strikes, we want to come together and do good; to love our neighbor well, in a time of need.  Our aim is to help individuals and people groups in crisis; locally, domestically, and globally – with immediate relief and long-term recovery.

PRAY

Prayer is not the only thing we do, but it is the first thing we do.

GIVE

We look to support those in need and assist those impacted.

  GO

We want to make a practical difference wherever and whenever it is possible.
If a disaster occurs in another part of the country or world, Journey consults with domestic/global partners to determine if unmet needs exist that we can meet.

Convoy of Hope is our primary domestic/global disaster response partner that we seek to equip with funding in these situations. Convoy of Hope is a faith-based organization with a driving passion to feed the world. With a long history as an early responder in times of natural disasters, Convoy of Hope has been a Four Star Charity as recognized by Charity Navigator since 2002. Convoy of Hope has served more than 200 million people since it was founded in 1994. For more information, visit convoyofhope.org.

All effort will be taken to allocate donated funds to the particular disaster they were given toward. Any excess funds remaining will be used to grant future recovery needs of individuals experiencing personal crises. If you’d like to give towards our disaster relief fund, please click here.

Convoy Hope Hurricane Response

Hurricane Helene has left more than 2 million people throughout the Southeast without power, impacting Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and the Carolinas. Tens of thousands are facing severe conditions without clean water, internet, or cell service. Rapid flooding has washed out roads and bridges, with the National Guard urging residents to stay off the roads due to safety concerns. Entire homes have been lost due to mudslides, leaving many communities in desperate need.

As a church, we are blessed to partner with Convoy of Hope, a ministry dedicated to providing relief in times of crisis. Convoy of Hope has teams on the ground, distributing vital supplies to those affected. This past weekend, they served over 1,200 families in Perry, Florida, providing food, water, hygiene kits, sports drinks, and tarps. Additional truckloads of supplies have been dispatched from their World Distribution Center and are now en route to Georgia, North Carolina, and other parts of Florida.

Convoy’s response to Hurricane Helene is just beginning, and communities throughout the Southeast will need ongoing support to rebuild. Journey Christian Church is committed to standing with these families and providing the hope and assistance they need to recover and rebuild.
Please continue to pray for all those impacted and for the safety of our relief partners as they serve in these devastated areas.
