Three Important Christmas Week Events

As we roll into the final week leading up to Christmas, there are three key ministry events that you need to be aware of regardless of what campus with which you regularly engage (Online, Apopka, Lake County). Let’s start with our Online Community.

  • Christmas Eve Under The Stars Online Version-December 24 at 6PM

At 6PM on Christmas Eve we will be presenting a special online edition of Christmas Eve Under The Stars. It is an outdoor service specifically filmed with our online community in mind. I am very excited about this service and it is one that you will want to share with your friends and family on your social media platforms. The music, the message and even a special candlelight service are all done to communicate in the most effective way possible to the hundreds of people who regularly join us online.

  • Christmas Eve Under The Stars Onsite, Combined Campuses-December 24 at 4-7PM

For the first time in eight years, we are doing our Christmas Eve celebration OUTSIDE, literally under the stars. With all that we have been through this year, it seemed like the right timing to come together outdoors for a special holiday gathering. AND we thought it would be a great time to bring both our Apopka and Lake County campuses TOGETHER for the first time ever on Christmas Eve. Details for Christmas Eve Under The Stars can be found by clicking here. The Family Fun Zone opens at 4PM and will close 15 minutes before the Candlelight service begins at 6PM. The Candlelight service will feature some of your favorite Christmas music led by our award-winning Journey band. We have a special delivery for a first-time guest who can guess the most peppermints in a jar. The message will be focused on finding the light of Christmas in the dark. The service will conclude with everybody’s favorite Christmas Eve tradition, singing Silent Night by candlelight. It’s going to be a very special Christmas Eve and I urge you to bring a chair or a blanket to sit on and a friend to share it with.

  • All Worship Gatherings Will Be ONLINE ONLY For December 27, 2020 ONLY

The Sunday worship gatherings for December 27 will be presented online only. Pastor Dustin Aagaard and I will be leading this special online service and we will be reviewing, not only how God got us through 2020, but some of the important ways God grew us in 2020. We didn’t just survive, we learned how to thrive in 2020 and we look forward to sharing a final look back at the most unusual year ever.

In case you misunderstand what’s happening on December 27, let me clear:

There will be NO IN-PERSON worship gatherings on Sunday, December 27, at our Apopka or Lake County campuses.

-There will only be an online worship service available at 9:30 & 11:15AM and 5PM.

-We will resume all regularly scheduled onsite worship gatherings as well as online on Sunday, January 3, 2021 as we kick off a New Year of making disciples of Jesus that love God, love people and serve the world.

What a great week lies ahead! Start if off right by joining us onsite or online thisSunday, December 20 for the final message in The Birth of Joy series called “Indestructible Joy”. Yeah! Give me some of that!

Loving the Christmas Journey,

Pastor John
