Support Groups

Gain Support Through Community


Journey’s Care Ministry offers a variety of support groups based on specific needs. The following is a list of groups that are offered throughout the year. Some are open year-round, while others go for a determined length of time.


Journey’s GriefShare is a 16-week, Christ-centered, biblically based support group. A grieving person can join at any time during the 16 weeks. Each session shows a video presentation followed by small group discussion about the video.

GriefShare is for people who have lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend through death.

Date: Begins Monday, August 1, 2022

Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm

Location: Apopka Campus Student Center

Hope Thru Grief is a podcast hosted by Journey member Steve Smelski and Attorney Marshall Adler. Join them for conversations that give hope through grief so that we can live our lives, love ourselves, honor those we’ve lost, and grow beyond our grief.
Listen as Pastor Harvey Carpenter, from Journey Christian Church, discusses the challenges of providing comfort in times of trouble.


Led by volunteers, registration is required.

DivorceCare’s life-changing support will guide you on a path of recovery after separation or divorce. Over 1 million people have found comfort and hope through this 13-week video based series.

Journey’s Single & Parenting is a 14-week, Christ-centered, biblically based support group where single parents find practical help and hope. As you know there aren’t many people who truly understand the unique challenges you face. The Single & Parenting experience includes a video presentation, small group discussion and a personal workbook. You’ll develop meaningful friendships with other single parents, who, like you, are tired of hectic mornings and chaotic evenings, the kids fighting, and a never-ending to-do list. Take the guesswork out of parenting alone.

Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm

Location: Apopka Campus


Facilitated by leaders who have been through the recovery process, you’ll find a loving, confidential, non-judgmental atmosphere. Registration is not required.

Journey to Christian Recovery is a place that offers support, encouragement, and hope for anyone seeking help overcoming addiction, codependency, and other hurtful effects of dysfunctional living through a biblically based recovery program.

Date: Every Thursday, in person and online

Time: 7:00pm-8:30pm

Location: Apopka Campus Anchor Room


Journey Christian Church is offering facilitated support groups for caregivers, family members, and friends providing care to persons living with Alzheimer’s and Dementia related illness.

Facilitated by leaders who have firsthand knowledge and experience, you’ll find a loving, confidential, non-judgmental atmosphere.

A safe, open environment where everyone gets a chance to speak. Challenges are shared and emotions are validated.

Date: 1st and 3rd Tuesday’s each month

Time: 10am-12pm
