Vicki Johnson

Next Gen Curriculum Coordinator
Journey Kids

Vicki is the Curriculum Coordinator for both Apopka & Lake County Next Gen ministries. She is also the Lead Host for our Journey Kids check-in.

Originally from Indiana, Vicki started working for Journey about 8 years ago. “I originally started as a part-time receptionist! My friend Jodi Dinnan called me one day and said ‘Hey, we are looking for someone to help in our count room’ (counting the weekend offerings). And I said, ‘Ummmm, you would not want me involved in anything that requires math!’ 🙂 So she then proceeded to tell me that our then receptionist Paula Hafer was taking vacation & planning on retiring in the near future…might I be interested in that? And I was all in!!! :)”

“I love SO MANY things about working at Journey…My job as curriculum coordinator has suited my skill set perfectly!!! There is nothing I would rather do! (unless I could get paid to pet puppies!) But the absolute best thing by far, has been the people! They are the best anywhere on the planet! My best friends are here. They make everyday better!”

“I am married to my handsome hubby, Ron Johnson! I have three children. My son Eric is 34 yrs. old and is in the Navy. He is stationed on Coronado Island in San Diego, CA. My daughter Hannah is 26 years old and is a nurse at Advent Health. My youngest daughter Halle is 24 years old and is a college student at USF in Tampa.”

“Before working at Journey I was an orthodontic assistant! I used to put braces on kiddos! Then I was a stay at home mom! And then I started working for Journey! I am not entirely sure that I actually have any hidden talents….I do really love decorating though! I watch way too much HGTV!!! My favorite food…it’s so hard to pick just one! So I will narrow it down to a nice steak dinner and also, pizza! :):):) Also, I have a big ole sweet tooth and my latest kick is a mint chocolate chip ice cream cone from Bruesters. Christian music is my favorite and often makes me cry. I also like Motown and it never makes me cry! 🙂 But my absolute favorite thing in all the entire world, is hanging out with my kids! Even if we just sit and watch tv. They are my favorite humans.”
