Student Ministry Resident
Journey Students, Residents

Katie is one of our Student Ministry residents and says, “that really means that I get to help students fall in love with Jesus! It’s the BEST!”

From Winter Garden, Florida, “I got connected to Journey when I met Pastor Dustin Aagaard in the Charlotte Airport in North Carolina in 2019! I was traveling from Orlando back to Liberty University after my brother’s wedding, and I got stranded in Charlotte. I spent almost 24 hours trying to get on a flight to Liberty…and then I very randomly got connected to Pastor Dustin who just happened to be going to Liberty as well. He was recruiting for a new Residency program that he was looking to start, and I just so happened to be looking for a job myself. On top of that, we both realized we were from Orlando, along with a LIST of other similarities in both of our stories. Long story short, I’m working as a resident for him now and it’s been a wild God story ever since. I LOVE the team that I get to work with, and the role that I get to play for the Kingdom of God. Relationship building is one of the best parts of my job, and I’m blessed to be a part of ministries that thrive off of Christ-centered community.”

“I am a cancer survivor (whoop whoop!) and a huge advocate of childhood cancer awareness. It’s something I am extremely passionate about and love to fight for! Another fun fact is that I actually really love classic rock and hard rock music. A lot of people wouldn’t expect that from me but it’s true! My favorite food is mac n’ cheese! I have the appetite of a five year old haha. 🙂 Lastly, my favorite movie is Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron!”
