Originally from Vero Beach, Fl, Deidra is Journey’s Director of Janitorial Services. She started working at Journey in July of 2013, having just moved here a few months prior. “I owned my own cleaning company for approximately 20 years. I stopped cleaning for several years to travel with my husband in ministry, until the Lord led us to Apopka. I have always loved to clean for people, it was my way of serving others. I saw a position online for Journey, and my husband said that God would open this position for me. So I came for an interview and felt right at home. I knew that this was where God wanted me to be. God showed me favor…I was hired and I have been here ever since. It has been such a blessing to me and my family.” Deidra has 2 children of her own, and two step children. She loves Italian food, desserts, and making cards and embroidery.

 

When asked what she loves about Journey, Deidra says, “I love so many things, but to name a few, probably the most important one is all the people that I have met and built relationships with. I also love to serve and minister to people that God puts in my life, and love keeping Journey cleaned and organized.”

 

“I will always¬† work in ministry because it is always been my life, even as a young child. I always found ways to help people no matter where I was in life. One of my favorite times at Journey was when I met Emy and Felix (our former janitorial services team), and we became like family. We would often have prayer for them and their family. Emy tried to have a baby for many years and she wasn’t able, but we kept praying and believe God and on August of 2018 they had a boy! God was faithful.”
