CAFE & FOOD SERVICES
Jesus and coffee make a great combination! If you have a gift of hospitality through cafe or food prep, we’d love to have you join our team. Opportunities include:
• Café Services Team
If you enjoy a high-energy and face-paced but fun environment, come be part of our “Brew Crew”. The Café Service Team consists of an order taker, cashier, and baristas.
• Coffee Cart Team
If you prefer a more relaxed environment, you can have the opportunity to pour a cup of coffee for our guests at the Coffee Cart.
• Food Services Team
If you love to cook, bake, or be aa server, join our Food Services Team to provide delicious treats for the Journey Café and/or meals for ministry events that happen throughout the week.

JOURNEY KIDS
Journey Kids is our environment uniquely designed for kids to have fun, be safe, and learn about who Jesus is! We would love for you to be a part of an amazing team that is leading the next generation to Love God, Love People, and Serve the World. Opportunities include:
- Early Childhood Classroom Leader (Birth – Kindergarten)
In this stage, kids are learning so much and soaking up everything you teach them about loving Jesus! Opportunities in Early Childhood range from holding babies, to teaching toddlers a memory verse, and dancing with kids for worship.
- Elementary Classroom Leader (1st – 5th Grade)
Dive deeper into the weekly lesson by leading kids in a guided discussion, hands-on activity, answering questions, and praying over them. Watch scripture come alive in the lives of the children each week!
- Check-In Team
The Check-In Team serves by creating a welcoming environment for families. Meet first-time guests and share the vision of Journey Kids through smiles, intentional engagement, and connection.
- Theater Hosting Team
Everything is bigger and better in our elementary environment and that starts with our large group element! Step on stage to host the service by teaching 1st – 5th graders the core values, monthly life application, weekly bottom line, and memory verse. All the needed information is provided; just ump on stage, engage the kiddos, and have lots of fun!

JOURNEY STUDENTS
Journey Students is an environment for our middle and high school students to experience a life-changing faith journey. Help our students know Jesus, grow in community, have fun, and serve in ministry. Opportunities include:
- Middle School Leader
Our Journey Students service for 6th – 8th graders is held on Sunday evenings. As a Middle School Leader, you’d be responsible for building relationships, leading message-based conversations, and guiding students through Journey’s discipleship process.
- High School Leader
Our Journey Students service for 9th – 12th graders is held on Sunday evenings. As a Middle School Leader, you’d be responsible for building relationships, leading message-based conversations, and guiding students through Journey’s discipleship process.
- Set-up/Tear Down Team
The Set-up/Tear Down Team is responsible for all things set-up and tear down! This means everything ranging from signs and cones to check-in tables and games. This team has the opportunity to create an atmosphere for students to find Jesus and community.
- Welcome Team
The Journey Students Welcome Team consists of parking lot hosts, greeters, check-in hosts, and those who like to connect with students and parents. They serve as the first impression for those coming to Journey Students. They set the tone by having fun, keeping everyone safe, and providing clear directions on and off the property.

ADULT LIFE MINISTRIES
There’s always a next step when it comes to following Jesus, and we love to celebrate and/or support people as they walk through life. Opportunities include:
- Life Group Leader
A Life Group Leader is responsible for building relational community, leading message-based conversations, and guiding adults through Journey’s discipleship process by hosting a small group of people in their home or at a host home.
- Support Group Leader
Journey offers numerous support groups that include Alzheimer’s & Dementia Caregiver Support Group, DivorceCare, GriefShare, Journey to Christian Recovery and Single & Parenting. A Support Group Leader enables access and sharing of information with the group, facilitates group meetings, delivers weekly lesson plans and facilitates group discussion. Support Group Leaders care for the group members by guiding them to Jesus, with a focus on hope and healing. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities, including but not limited to: Greeters, Small Group Facilitators, Engagement Managers, Shepherds, Tech Support, and Social Media Coordinators. Be blessed by blessing others!
- Baptism Support
Greet people who have decided to publicly profess their faith and assist behind the scenes with baptism attire and logistics.
- Funeral Support
If you have a flexible schedule and have a heart to love those who are mourning, we would like to invite you to join our team as a funeral service greeter and/or host.
- Prayer Team
There are many opportunities to pray for Journey members and our community in-person (Wednesdays at 11:00am), virtually, and through emailed prayer requests.

WORSHIP TEAM
We are passionate about using our musical gifts to create an atmosphere for our church to experience the presence of God. Opportunities include:
- Instrumentalist
A Worship Team instrumentalist consists of drums, electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, and keys/piano. We express our love to God through instruments while creating a space in service for people to pursue His presence. You don’t need to be a professional to join, but you will have to show some experience and submit an audition video.
- Vocalist
Vocalists are the singers on stage. They are often the connection point between the congregation and the rest of the band. The lyrics that are sung are incredibly important and the margin to sing well or be flat/sharp is so small but can make or break a worshipful moment.
- Next Gen Worship Team
To maintain a developmental atmosphere that pours into students as much as possible, we prioritize having middle school students, high school students, and young adult instrumentalist and vocalists join our team for Journey Students.

PRODUCTION TEAM
We strive to create a worship experience that is comfortable and inviting, and we pray that God uses our efforts to lead many on a life-changing Journey with Jesus. Opportunities include:
• Special Event Tech
Looking to be a part of the production team but can’t serve on Sundays? As part of the Special Event Tech Team, you’d serve on the production team for funerals, weddings, camps, and many other events. This would intel running audio, lighting, and ProPresenter for events during the week. This can be a great opportunity to volunteer for Journey and learn the basics of production with our Production Director.
• Lighting Tech
Journey’s Lighting Techs help our Production Director set up, rig, program, monitor, repair, and operate lighting equipment to enhance the worship experience and ensure lighting is properly operated for our Sunday service and events.
• Video Switcher
Journey’s Video Switcher calls out camera shots from the director and plays them. You will at times direct cameras, as well as communicate what camera angles are working well for the service and what shots are not.
• Camera Operator
Journey’s Camera Operators is responsible for capturing and recording all aspects of a service. They use principles of lighting, staging, focusing and filtering to achieve a specific visual look for Journey’s broadcast and online service.
• Graphics Operator
This person operates the main media computer running ProPresenter for the duration of service including all slides, lyrics, scriptures, videos, etc. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the lyrics for the songs being performed that service.
• Stage Tech
Stage Techs are crew members who assist on sets. They provide a helping hand on audio, video, lighting, and backstage. Stage Techs also set up equipment and help performers get gear packs and microphones ready and will communicate to the production team about how many baptisms are taking place. Duties may vary based on the size and type of production.
• Next Gen Production Team
To maintain a developmental atmosphere that pours into students as much as possible, we prioritize having middle school students, high school students, and young adult instrumentalist and vocalists join our team for Journey Kids and Journey Students services.

COMMUNICATIONS/ONLINE
In a growing, digital world, we get to engage with our online Journey community every single day! Whether you attend our Apopka, Lake County, or Online Campus, you’ll be able to serve either in-person or even remotely, depending on the role and your location. Opportunities include:
- Photography
Our volunteer photographers capture photos of all our live environments across either of our campuses and events that happen at Journey. If you have experience using a camera, we can provide one!
- Online Campus Host
An Online Campus Host cares for our online attenders worldwide. This happens through our live chat experience using Facebook, YouTube, and our church online platform. Encourage and love each of our online campus members as you provide them with links and scripture references as they join in to the service.
- Graphic Design
Are you a freelanced graphic designer with the flexibility to use your talents for the church? Opportunities for graphic design for Journey’s ministries can be as much or as little as your capacity allows. This could be a great way to add to your design profile!
- Social Media
Capture the heart of Sunday services, Journey Students, and/or Journey Kids every week by doing Facebook and Instagram story takeovers to show all our ministry environments. All you need is a smart-phone, creativity, and a heart to serve!
- Website Support
Do you have webpage building experience and would like to be called on when a ministry of Journey needs something created or edited on our website? We’d love to have you serve on our communications team!
- Video Editing
If you have an eye for capturing b-roll for videos or would like to create a visual experience by editing together clips from other staff and volunteers, join the communications team to use your skills to tell life-changing stories.
FACILITIES & SECURITY
We want to ensure that Journey is safe, secure, and ready each week to welcome our guests. Opportunities include:
• Safety & Security
Do you have law enforcement or first responder experience? Would you like an opportunity to serve God’s people by helping to keep watch over the flock? Safety and security of the church is an important and needed role on Sundays and during special events.
• Facilities Team
Better known simply as “the Wednesday crew”, this group of people have a heart to keep our facility in tip top shape. Breakfast and hot coffee is always served for those who join us Wednesday mornings.
• iServe
This is a campus level serve opportunity where volunteers and staff come together the 3rd Saturday of every month for the goal of beautifying our facility. If you enjoy landscaping or have a knack for painting or minor repair, come alongside us.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
We even have administrative support opportunities to serve at our church office or with Next Gen during the week. Opportunities include:

FOOD FOR LIFE
Journey Christian Church sponsors Food for Life ministry to distribute food to families in need, along with providing a message of hope through a relationship with Jesus Christ. There are opportunities to serve or participate.
