Resurrection? Indeed

April 10-12, 2020

The Lord is risen indeed… (Luke 24:34 NKJV)

After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. (Acts 1:3)

He appeared to more than 500 of the brothers and sisters…most of whom are still living. (1 Corinthians 15:6)

1) The resurrection means that your worth does not fluctuate.

For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. (1 Peter 1:18-19 NLT)

2. Your future is not at risk.
3. Your past is not unforgivable.

“The major cause of emotional distress is shame. The greatest antidote to shame is empathy.” –Brene Brown

But greater than His empathy with our struggles is His victory over our sin and shame.

I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do…What a wretched man I am! (Romans 17:15,24)

Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! (Romans 7:24-25)

Resurrection means that the best is yet to come.

I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this? (John 11:25-26)
