How do you walk through the valley? By following the Shepherd

April 4/5, 2020

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalm 23)

Three things to do when you are in a valley:

1. Follow the Shepherd

Who you follow, tells me where you are going.

2. Worship: Satan doesn’t know what to do with a valley worshiper.

Defender by Rita Springer

Hallelujah, you have saved me

So much better your way

Hallelujah, great defender

So much better your way

Psalm 46 by Shane and Shane

Lord of Hosts, You’re with us

With us in the fire,

With us as a shelter,

With us in the storm.

You will lead us

Through the fiercest battle,

Oh, where else would we go,

But with the Lord of Hosts.

Nothing Else by Cody Carnes

I’m caught up in your presence

I just want to sit here at your feet

I’m caught up in this holy moment

I never want to leave.

Oh, I’m not here for blessings

Jesus, you don’t owe me anything

More than anything that you can do

I just want You.

Rescue by Lauren Daigle

I will send out an army to find you

In the middle of the darkest night

It’s true, I will rescue you

I will never stop marching to reach you

In the middle of the hardest fight

It’s true, I will rescue you.

3. Know that the valley is always more intimidating when you walk through it alone.
