Hello Journey Friends and Family,
This past weekend millions of people celebrated the most extraordinary event our world has ever known.
It was an exclamation point to the greatest love story ever told, how God loved you and me so much that He sent His son to die on a cross to conquer death and sin once and for all through the burial and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection changed everything we thought we knew about God, grace, and the grave. God did through Jesus what he wants to do in our lives, bring dead things to life.
This past weekend, we saw 115 people give their lives to Christ and get baptized in the name of Jesus, ONE HUNDRED & FIFTEEN people! We have been in awe of God all week.
Every Monday morning, we have a staff meeting called the WRAP Session (Weekend Recap and Prayer). Usually, that meeting lasts thirty minutes; however, we went on for over an hour and a half, sharing story after story of how God used YOU to change lives this past weekend as we celebrated Easter.
Pastor John and I talked about how proud we are of you and your hearts to see God move in a fresh new way.
· God used you when you invited a friend to church (even if they didn’t come).
· God used you when you prayed for the services.
· God used you when you stepped up and served at one of our seven services to help point people to Jesus.
· God used you when you gave financially to help people experience a new life in Christ.
· God used you when you attended a different service time to free your seat for a new family to hear the gospel.
God used you, and He did so in a big way. Thank you for leaning in this Easter to see God move like never before.
This is Bill Waine. He is an 86-year-old gentleman and was the first to get baptized. What a way to start it off.
These two are sisters and two of the five people in their family that got baptized this past weekend. The mom Maira Aguirre, along with brother Derick, and sisters, Xaira, Delimar, Melina, all got baptized as well.
This is Pastor Jeremy’s (our worship pastor) neighbors, Raf, Wioletta, Carlos Hakemer-Fernandez & Yermi, and Ryan Fung. At the 8:00 a.m. service in Apopka, the whole family got baptized, and Pastor Jeremy set down his guitar and jumped into the baptismal to help do the honors of baptizing them. He ended up leading worship for the remaining three services in wet clothes. I LOVE IT!
Thank you, Journey family. I loved serving alongside you.
This weekend, we are starting a new series. We will address the myth that it’s possible to have a perfect family. Nowhere in scripture are we called to have a perfect anything, much less a perfect family. However, the Bible does have a lot to say about how to have a healthy family. In this series, we will outline three myths vs. three truths to help you have a healthy family. Perfection is not the goal; health is. We hope you can join us this week as we kick off this series.
I’m loving the soaken wet worship leader all day long Journey,
