The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples…” So, the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said…Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.” (Matthew 28: 5-10)
-Don’t be afraid.
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid…” (Matthew 28:5)
Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid.” (Matthew 28:10)
…God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “the Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
Go quickly and tell his disciples. (Matthew 28:7)
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news… (Isaiah 52:7)

Faith > Fear
-Why? So, they will see Jesus.
…Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me. (Matthew 28:10) When I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people to myself. (John 12:32)
Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him. (John 3:14-15)
“…We sinned when we spoke against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. The Lord said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.” So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived. (Numbers 21:7-9)
For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 13:47)
“You have not really learned a commandment until you have obeyed it.” –Vance Havner
