Jesus, who said that he is the light of the world, also described us, his friends and followers, as the light of the world. He goes on to tell us to “let our light shine so that people will see our good works and glorify God.”(Matthew 5:16)
In another place in the Bible, Paul writes, “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10)
We live in a messed-up world. Our vision at Journey: a growing community of people on a life-changing journey with Jesus. As we follow Jesus, He will lead us to share the love God has for us with words and with our actions.
We know that the needs in this world can, at times, be overwhelming. However, we must not let this sense of being overwhelmed drive us to despair. Rather it must drive us to engage and serve. Please contact Outreach & Missions Pastor Randy Green at email@example.com if you have any questions.
Jesus talked a lot about His love for those who are poor, hurting, broken and forgotten. The mission of Journey Christian Church is to love God, love people and serve the world. Food For Life
This is our monthly ministry to the dozens of families who show up looking for food, prayer, compassion and hope in Jesus. Journey has launched the Food for Life ministry. Food for Life meets the same basic needs that the Bread of Life ministry met, but is led and administered by members and volunteers of Journey Christian Church.
Since this ministry is totally a Journey-led and resourced ministry, we need your help. Every Fifth Sunday Weekend is a collection time for selected items for Food For Life distribution days, which are set for the second Saturday of each month. You may click here for more information.
Our next Fifth Sunday Weekend collection time is April 28/29. These are the items we will be collecting:
- Plastic Jars of Peanut Butter
- Canned Meat (Ham, Chicken, Tuna)
- Cans of Stew, Soup and Chili
- Canned Beans and/or Pork and Beans

The Food for Life ministry here at Journey takes place the second Saturday of each month from 7:30AM to 11:30AM. Learn about opportunities to serve with Food for Life by contacting Chuck Shegda.
