The World’s Greatest Comeback
April 15/16, 2017
In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar—when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and Traconitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene—during the high-priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas… (Luke 3:1-2)
Four facts of history regarding the life and death of Jesus:
- Jesus died on a Roman cross on a Friday and was buried in a tomb.
- That same tomb was empty Sunday morning.
- Numerous witnesses testified, at great peril to themselves, that they saw Jesus alive multiple times and multiple places after he died.
- Skeptics who were aggressively opposed to the suggestion that Jesus had risen from the dead, were convinced they too had seen Jesus risen from the dead and never recanted, even in the face of death.
This Jesus, God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses. (Acts 2:32)
I pray…that you will have greater understanding in your heart so you will know the hope to which he has called us and that you will know how rich and glorious are the blessings God has promised his holy people. And you will know that God’s power is very great for us who believe. That power is the same as the great strength God used to raise Christ from the dead and put him at his right side in the heavenly world. (Ephesians 1:18-20)
Through Jesus, you have a comeback capacity that cannot be conquered!
…This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven. (Acts 1:11)
